Candidate for Wisconsin governor Tom Tiffany omitted the Milwaukee Bucks from a recent TV ad while discussing teams he roots for.

“I love the Packers, Brewers, Badgers, old fashioneds, everything Wisconsin,” the Republican U.S. congressman said in an ad released last month.

It appears intentional to omit the Bucks from those teams considering they are in the NBA and part of one of the four major sports leagues in the country. Further, the Bucks’ arena is in part publicly funded, which Tiffany voted in favor of and faced strong opposition as a result.

Former Gov. Scott Walker, a Republican, previously touted helping deliver Fiserv Forum to downtown Milwaukee for the Bucks for decades to come.

The Bucks were founded in 1968 and have won two championships for the state. Most recently they won the NBA Finals in 2021, the only championship the state has seen since the Packers won the Super Bowl in 2010.

Tiffany, born in Minnesota, didn’t respond when asked if he is a Bucks fan. He is the only viable candidate running for governor in the Republican Party.
