Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley is going after the FBI, mentioning Director Kash Patel by name, after the agency visited the home of a county election official.

“Donald Trump lost the 2020 election. Courts have confirmed this, recounts have confirmed this, his own officials have confirmed it. He’s a loser,” Crowley said in a video posted to social media on May 14.

The president still says he won the 2020 election against Joe Biden and now the FBI are investigating the election results in Wisconsin.

“Yesterday, Trump and his lap dog, Kash Patel, sent his FBI agents to the private home of Milwaukee County’s elections director,” Crowley said. “That is absolutely unacceptable and it reeks of intimidation.”

Crowley also tagged Patel in his tweet, saying “your boss is a loser and so are you.” Crowley is amid a run for governor in the Democratic primary.

“As the next governor of Wisconsin, I will not let Trump use the federal government to intimidate election officials across our state in his selfish attempt to sow doubt in the integrity of our elections,” Crowley said. “Our clerks, they did their jobs, and they kept the 2020 election safe and secure, and Donald Trump lost. No strong arm tactic or intimidation will ever change that.”

Milwaukee County Clerk George Christenson also released a statement.

“The 2020 Presidential Election was fair and transparent, and its results are accurate,” he said. This has been proven repeatedly over the last six years by the post-election canvass, the Presidential Election Recount, State court-based challenge, Federal court-based challenge, the forensic audit by the Wisconsin’s Legislative Audit Bureau, and two additional independent audits. Continuing to relitigate settled questions does not strengthen public confidence in elections but it undermines it.

“While we cooperate with all legitimate law enforcement actions, we will defend against any attack on our democracy and will defend the rights of voters of Milwaukee County. Our responsibility as election officials is to safeguard the integrity of the process through facts, transparency, and adherence to the law, and the record clearly demonstrates that those standards were met in 2020.”

The spokeswoman for FBI Milwaukee declined to comment.
