Ashland K9 Officer Chase and Officer Ovaska have had a busy couple of days. Yesterday (Thursday) morning resulted in a high-speed chase with a stolen car in which the individual was arrested with the assistance of Chase. K9 Chase also got his first apprehension last night! With what could’ve been very dangerous situation for officers with an individual that was possibly armed and making threats, Officer Ovaska and K9 Chase were called out.
After announcing the canine unit with no response, Chase was sent into an attic space and apprehended the individual who was hiding with no officers harmed in the process. Way to go K9 Chase! And then today (Thursday) they assisted Bayfield County on a traffic stop which resulted in another meth bust and arrests!! Chase got lots or rewards and praise and we couldn’t be more proud! Keep up the good work
